RIP Mr. Desktop!

So my desktop computer died and I decided it was worthy of a tribute! (Yeah, I'm crazy I know)

Mr. Desktop
2002-2007
On a stormy night in September Mr. Desktop's life ended abruptly. Thankfully it was a quick and painless electrical surge brought on by a thunderstorm. I feel somewhat guilty though as I did not know that a surge protector was only good for one surge. Had I known this I would have plugged Mr. Desktop into a new one since the other one had been through several surges.

Mr. Desktop was a wonderful computer and was always there for me over the past 5 years. Except for the time he got a nasty virus that slipped past his anti-virus software which left him out of commission for a few months. However, he recovered and was back to his lightning-fast self! I am really going to miss ALL of my photos from birthday parties, vacations, and other important moments that were stored on him and not backed up as they should have been :( I am also really going to miss my Paint Shop Pro editing software that was downloaded from the internet so there is no backup cd to replace :( And I will greatly miss every single essay or report I have ever written for school that are now gone forever.

Mr. Desktop is survived by his replacement "Mrs. Desktop". She is not nearly as familiar with me and my expectations as he was but in time I hope she will make him proud. She will not ever hold as much information as he did since I have learned my lesson and will be storing everything important on an external hard drive from now on.

Thank you Mr. Desktop for everything you configured for me over the last 5 years, you will be GREATLY missed...it makes me sick to my stomach knowing you & your contents are gone forever :(

Services for Mr. Desktop have not yet been decided. Please do not send flowers as Mr. Desktop will be laid to rest in JunkYard Heaven. Donations for his replacement (Mrs. Desktop) will gladly be accepted though!! :)

My sincerest condolences.

Only a fellow student could understand how tragic your loss is.:) Seriously.

From your Canadian pal!
